The IOC4T Input/Output (I/O) card serves as a signal interface for the MPC4 machinery protection card. It is installed at the rear of a rack and connects directly to the rack's backplane through two connectors.
Each IOC4T card is paired with a corresponding MPC4 card and is mounted directly behind it within the rack (either ABE04x or ABE056 models).
The IOC4T operates in slave mode, communicating with the MPC4 card via the P2 connector using an Industry Pack (IP) interface.
The front panel of the IOC4T (located at the rear of the rack) features terminal strip connectors, which are used for wiring to transmission cables coming from measurement chains, such as sensors and/or signal conditioners.
These screw-terminal connectors handle both the input of signals from and the output of signals to any external control system.
In addition, the IOC4T card is designed to protect all inputs and outputs from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and signal surges. It also complies with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards.
