The IS200EPSMG1A Exciter Power Supply Module (EPSM) is used in the full static andregulator control systems.

EPSM Group l modules (EPSMGl ) are used in the fullstatic system and EPSM Group 2 modules (EPSMG2) are used in the regulator control.

The EPSM is comprised of2 major sections, a buck-regulator and a push-pull in-verter. The buck-regulator converts the input voltage to a $0 V dc intermediate volt-age.

This intermediate voltage is then applied to a push-pull inverter to create therequired multiple output voltages. The transformer used in the push-pull inverterprovides high-voltage isolation between the input voltage source and the output supplied to the control system.

In full statie control systems, EPSMG1 converts l25 V de from the IS200EPDMExciter Power Distribution Module (EPDM) into the voltages required for theEX2100 excitation control.

There are three independent EPSMG ls that supply powerto cach of the controllers Ml, M2, and C.

They are mounted in the IS200EPBP Ex-citer Power Backplane (EPBP) located below the EBKP in the control cabinet. Con-nectors Pl and P2 carry power from the EPSMGl to EPBP that includes cableconnectors to EBKP and other boards.

The EPSMGl supplies +5 V dc, ±l5 V dc, and +24 V dc to EBKP. Power is alsosupplied to external modules as follows:

+24 V de to power the fans, de-excitation module, crowbar module, the grounddetector module, and the field voltage/current moduleIsolated +70 V de for contact wetting to the terminal boards.
