The speed measurement and overspeed protection systems DOPS and DOPS AS are used to measure the speed of rotating machines and to protect against impermissible overspeeds.

In combination with a safety shut-off valve, the DOPS system is suitable for replacing older mechanical overspeed protection systems.

With its consistent three-channel design, from signal detection to signal processing to the evaluation of the measured speed, the system offers maximum safety for the machine to be monitored.

Safety-relevant limit values, such as overspeed limits, are submitted to the fail-safe technology connected later.

Thus, in addition to operational safety, a high standard of protection functions can be ensured.

An integrated peak value memory allows the maximum speed value that occurred before the machine was shut down to be read out. This function provides important information for evaluating the mechanical machine load caused by overspeed.

Alarm outputs and error messages are output as potential-free relay outputs and short-circuit-proof +24 V voltage outputs.

The alarm outputs are combined in 2-out-of-3 logic and can also be used as potential-free relay contacts.

The system includes extended fault detection functions. The three

speed sensors operate continuously within the permissible range.

In addition, the channels check each other and monitor each other's output

signals. If the internal fault detection circuit detects an error, this is indicated via the output contacts and shown in plain text on the display.

Via the PROFIBUS DP interface, the recorded data can be transferred to a host computer. By using prefabricated connecting cables and screw terminals, the system can be economically integrated in a 19-inch cabinet.
